Decorating

I've been haunting ebay, trying to find the perfect hall table for our entry and I thought I had it.... but I was outbid. I sulked about it for a bit, but now I've decided that it was a blessing in disguise, because I found this locally at a bargain price:

You can stash a surprising amount of crap in those drawers...

I need to find just the right arrangement of decorative bits and pieces, but for now, I've pinched things from other rooms, bought a lamp on special at Target, and parked Buddha (who's destined for our al fresco room) in the middle.

The print used to hang in the dining room at our old place. It's not quite what I want, but I don't mind it for the time being. Now I can take my time to look around for something that's just right.

Well I really like the hall table you've found.
Love the colour and that it's timber and the cute drawers. I think it's nicer than some of the other ones in your H1 thread about your ebay attempt and I really quite liked one of those. Had me checking ebay myself after reading your post.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know you've been waiting for this piece of furniture for ages so it's great that you finally have it.

How did bikeboy react to the cost? lol.

Looks great, love those green vases and yes agree about the drawers, mine are filled with crap but at least it's out of sight!

Thanks, girls! :o) The timber is mahogany, very solid and a bit imperfect, which gives it some character.

Toni, he was the one who told me to "just go and buy it" when I was moaning about missing out on the ebay one.

And the vases are from the bathroom. I found them at a florist in Moonee Ponds a couple of years ago and had to have them. I might keep them in the entry and find something else to replace them now.

Danielle, Brand Junction - can't remember the name of the shop...

Check on eBay too, lots of similar ones there from $240 upwards, although shipping is a bit exxy.
